Day 5
Post-Activism
9th October 2026
Dayās presentation
What do these times ask of us?
The final dayās presentation will pose the most fundamental question of the conference: what does this time of acute, overlapping crises demand of each of us? This question will lead us to an analysis of the specific demands of our time, the moral imperatives and calls to action emerging from current crises, and the articulation of other modes of activism.
ROUND TABLE 12
The Future Is Now: Ethics, Spirituality, and the Need to Reimagine Activism
This session will explore the roles of African spiritual practices in resistance movements and consider how to integrate ethical and spiritual considerations into a project to renew the way we conceptualize and engage in collective action. The goal is to imagine forms of activism that will foster both external material and social change and inner personal transformation.

ROUND TABLE 13
The conference will conclude with a celebration of life in all its diversity. This roundtable will explore the foundations of a solidarity that is radical, profound, and truly pluralistic, capable of responding to the existential challenges of our time with courage, compassion, and collective determination. This is not a superficial or conditional solidarity but an unconditional commitment to the well-being of all living things. We will seek to deconstruct the barriers that separate us, build bridges of understanding and mutual support, and transcend our differences by recognizing and celebrating the intrinsic interconnectedness of all lives.
