Noire Velours
Noire Velours is a 33-year-old Togolese singer who made her music scene debut in 2017. Born Houefa Anoumou and raised between Togo and Benin in a family of artists, she grew up surrounded by music and live performance. After earning a Master’s degree in Brand Strategy from Sup de Pub Bordeaux, she chose to dedicate herself fully to music at the age of 23. Known for her soft, melancholic voice and true to her motto, ‘Soft is the new black,’ she built her career from 2017 to 2023 within the Italy-based label Money Factory Cellule, winning Best Female Artist of Togo at the 2020 All Music Awards. Nicknamed ‘Vodoun Gbè Gbè,’ she embodies a young, spiritual, and modern Africa — one reconnected to its ancestral roots. Following her 2022 EP Nuances, she is preparing for her major comeback in 2026.
