THE HOLLOWING OUT OF SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH, RIGHTS AND JUSTICE

When you use language like reproductive justice, it actually means something. When you use the word of intersectionality, it actually means something. And so how do we hold back on the hollowing out of these concepts and remind people of actually what the content is of those? And again, the blood, sweat, tears and death that have actually brought about the emergence of some of these ideas.

    Carrie is a queer, feminist activist from South Africa, now living and working in Geneva. Carrie has degrees in political science and education, but most of what she has learned has been through almost three decades of activism. Since the late 90s, Carrie has been part of various social justice movements and activist groups— working on HIV and AIDS, sexuality, gender-based violence, forced migration, and economic justice. Carrie is devoted to direct action, popular education, and art-making for activism and movement building. Carrie was part of the Global Sumud Flotilla to Gaza in 2025.
